Castle Suites

• The castle suites are designed to make your stay even more memorable, with majestic four-poster beds, roll top baths, and separate walk-in showers. These rooms are spacious and characterful, featuring fireplaces, stone mullion windows and superb garden views.

Henry VII Suite

• Offering an unforgettable Tudor castle experience, the Henry VII Suite is set within Thornbury Castle’s North Wing, overlooking the inner courtyard.
• Climb the circular wooden staircase to the first floor, where you’ll find a magnificent four-poster suite with the advantage of a fold down ‘Murphy’ bed, ideal for families with one or two children or a third adult. The bed is hidden within the wooden panelling in the lounge, adjacent to the ornamental stone fireplace. The bathroom has a separate shower and bath, completing this luxurious suite.

Jayne Seymour Suite

• Located in the castle tower, the Jane Seymour suite sits above the Henry VIII suite and – as you’d expect for a space named after one of the most beloved wives of Henry VIII – shares with that kingly suite both an extravagant level of luxury and magnificent views stretching all the way to Wales. Its unique four-poster bed provides the centrepiece for a room rich in period detailing and contemporary comfort.

Henry VIII Suite 

• In making this most special of suites your home from home, you’ll truly follow in the footsteps of perhaps the most famous king in British history. As its name suggests, this was the room in which the Tudor royals King Henry VIII and his then-bride Anne Boleyn stayed when visiting the castle during their royal tour of 1535.
• Today, it offers contemporary comfort and a level of luxury truly fit for a king and queen – all the while retaining the period details and a traditional décor in keeping with its heritage as an archetypal English castle.

Catherine of Aragon Tower Suite

• Rather fittingly found at the very top of the South Wing tower, the Catherine of Aragon Suite is in every sense the top suite in the castle. Once you’ve climbed the atmospheric spiral staircase and pushed open the grand wooden door, you’re greeted by exceptional features, artfully presented across a decadent 71 square metres of living space.
• This extravagant suite, set within our former English royal castle, encompasses 24-carat gilding, sumptuous Tudor furnishings, silk wall hangings and, at the heart of it all, the largest four-poster bed of any UK hotel. It’s a space that is every bit as stylish and ornate as a wife of Henry VIII.

The Tudor Hall is perfect for larger occasions, including banquets and gala dinners, while the Baron’s Sitting Room is a more intimate space for cocktail receptions, exclusive dinner parties and elegant suppers.

Catering 

• Thornbury Castle are proud to be awarded 3AA rosettes for the quality of their food and 4 red stars for the quality of their service, it is an indulgent experience but in a relaxed setting with the finest interiors. Guests can choose from a wide range of delicious and impressive menus to suit all occasions.
• If you’re celebrating something special then perhaps the Six-Course Tasting Menu or even the A-la-Carte Menu, which offers a range of seasonal dishes, many of the ingredients and produce coming direct from the Castles kitchen garden.

The Tudor Hall, Great Oven & Boyling House

• The Majestic Tudor Hall ensures that everybody who passes through its entrance way can't help but feel inspired by their surroundings. Fully private with Boyling House, Great Oven spaces for hosting and charming stone bar area.
• Accommodating up to 70 guests for a meeting or dinner and 120 for a reception.

The Barons Room

• This impressive room offers a dramatic backdrop for a meetings and private dinners. Located in the main Castle the Barons is set on the first floor overlooking the fountain. Benefiting from its own private lounge this delightful room is surrounded in original oak paneling with an original stone fireplace
• Accommodating up to 24 guests for a meeting or dinner.

The Chancellors Lounge

• Located on the first floor of the main castle with an impressive large windows overlooking the front lawns and courtyard. This is beautiful room with a high hand painted ceiling, original antiques, and feature fireplace. Located next door to the Barons Room this lounge is a lovely addition to the Barons for drinks receptions and post meal drinks.

The Library

• Set on the ground floor to the Castle this historic room has a stunning oriel window. Rich oak paneling, stone fireplace and rich fabrics.
• Licensed for civil ceremonies up to 20 guests with easy access to rear gardens. 

The Lounge

• At the heart of the Castle is the beautiful lounge. Here you can cosy up by the open fire and enjoy the high ornate ceilings, stained glass windows, paneling and oil paintings. 
• A place for relaxation and socialising for many centuries.

The Tower

• This grand room heralds a centre piece chandelier. Once the bedrooms to Anne Boleyn, set on the ground floor of the historic castle with feature arrowslit windows and octagonal shape.

• Meetings & Incentives - Inspiring and invigorating, impressive and intimate; these are the qualities that set our castle and its grounds apart as a wonderfully impactful setting for meetings, team building and training. Located within 30 minutes from Bristol City Centre and Bristol Parkway, our distinct event spaces are able to accommodate up to 70 guests.
